Robert Woodside was fastest through Slieveanorra with a time

obviously well on the case today. McGarrity said he was
struggling a bit with the car's rear suspension. Robin
Philips reported 2 overshoots.
John McKeown spun the Sierra, still has no driver's door and
the windscreen is now cracked. Denis Biggerstaff was well
off the pace of the leaders and just could not understand it,
said there was nothing wrong. Denis' actual stage time
was 8.56. Glenn Allen spun and stalled the Mk2 Escort at
the hairpin and the oil light came on short afterwards. Gary
White had a slight overshoot and a spin.
Davy Patterson retired the Maurice Lynn Motors backed Escort
half a mile into stage 1 when a strut collapsed.
