Rally leader Paul Harris has fingers and toes crossed that his Subaru Impreza lasts the distance. Letterkenny man Paul arrived in here to service with a worried frown on his young face..."We're in big trouble with the engine, it's overheating, blowing the water out, it is a matter now of nursing it to the finish, even if she gets that far" reported Paul.  Somehow or another he has to try - and finish - the Dunlop National Championship is at stake.  All the drivers are desperately unhappy now with the conditions, their cars are aquaplaning everywhere, windscreens are misting up and they are really struggling to keep going, with little enjoyment in it.  They are now going down tos tage 7, Carran Lake, which was badly flooded the first time through, and in fact was blocked by 2 crashed cars mid way through the first run.

Steve Fleck was 8th on our leaderboard after stage 4, but Steve and his Subaru seem to have disappeared on us - no word - just no word as to their whereabouts.  Front runner Dessie Keenan crashed out on stage 3. Kevin Barrett has got over his earlier broken driveshaft, but is struggling now for visibility - he smelt a burning smell in the car and reckons that the relay to screen heater has expired.  Also in big visibility trouble is Donie O'Sullivan - he is thinking of withdrawing here at service.

Patrick Elliott continues to lead gpN from Roy White with Jon Tainton 58s behind White in 3rd. Stuart Darcy continues to set impressive times in his group N Honda Civic and would appear to be leading class 2, Thomas Taafe in a bigger Honda is the front runner in class 3.
