On our last Rally News the gap between Kytolehto and Marko Ipatti going into stage 10 was shown as 14 seconds.  Retrospectively, Ipatti has had 8 seconds added to his stage 8 time, which pushed the gap up to 22 seconds.  Through this stage 10, the 11.4 mile Bewshaugh test, Ipatti was 6s quicker than Kytolehto, so the gap between them is now 16 seconds, with just 1 stage to go - the 18.1 mile Newcastleton test.

Overall fastest through Bewshaugh was Neil Simpson with a time of 11.30.4 - Ipatti had 11.32.5 - Jonny Milner, still well down the order had 11.35.7 and Kytolehto 11.38.7.  Interestingly, in the Super 1600 category David Higgins was faster for the first time on the rally than Mats Andersson or David's Peugeot team mate Justin Dale.  Higgins is still troubled with massive dust in the car but he is doing his best to overcome that.  Mats Andersson said after the stage "We could not get it together we were sliding all over the place".  Justin Dale said "Very changeable surfaces, not a lot of grip in places, I didn't want to end up in one of those big ditches at this stage".

Rally leader Jarmo Kytolehto also felt the stage was very slippy, while Marko Ipatti just said "A good run".  Nik Elsmore had some gear selection troubles which cost him a little time.  Andrew Pinker's car is now overheating, co driver Allan Harryman saying "It's all character building". Charlie Exton in the Honda finished the stage laughing, saying about his co driver Suzanne Emiliani - "She's crazy".
