On stage 2 conditions remained slippy and difficult for the drivers, it was still damp under the trees despite the warm sunshine. Derek McGeehan was one of the few drivers to significantly improve his time, and he did admit that it was a bit of a struggle as it was so slippy. Garry Jennings increased his time from stage by just half a second. Kenny McKinstry felt he was faster but the stage finish stopwatch told a different story, and he was slightly slower. Derek McGarrity was a wee bit annoyed at having stalled his Subaru and touched a bale at the chicane, right in front of the press caravan. Derek lost about 5s. Stuart Biggerstaff in 5th was a bit flustered at the start of stage 2 and managed to half-spin his Subaru and then was slowed slightly at an incident where Melvyn Evans spun his Subaru into the straw bales at the playground. It was worked out OK for Stuart as the organisers have given him a nominal time for that 2nd stage, so he stays in 5th o/a.

Jonny Leonard seemed to pull out all the stops and really went for it through stage 2 and he has moved up into 6th o/a. Jonny has his mother Geraldine on the pacenotes, and she really pushes for good times.

Further to the incident involving Melvyn Evans` Subaru. He managed to get going but did not reach the passage control into service. Further stories include Emma McKinstry spinning her Subaru on the gravel section in stage 2. Paul Barrett admitted to being a bit untidy on the 2nd stage but is still 9th o/a and lead GpN in his Impreza. Robert Woodside improved his time in SS2 having switched the Porsche to narrower tyres, and also had the suspension softened. Keith White lost quite a few seconds in S2 when his Escort went off a cylinder. Keith is hoping a change of spark plugs will fix the problem.

In the Escort Mk2 category Frank Kelly seems to have moved to the front with Wesley Patterson now 2nd and Adrian Hetherington 3rd. Martin Teggart led after stage 1 but he has slipped to 4th. Alan Smyth in the Citroen C2 is leading class 2 from Lloyd Hutchinson in his Mini.
