On the 3rd run over the Ballybuck stage Garry Jennings was fastest again from Eugene Donnelly with Declan Boyle just a split second down on the Mini WRC. In overall terms Declan Boyle holds the slenderest of leads with just 1 short stage to go before the overnight halt. Declan Boyle`s Subaru is still suffering from very high pressure in the cooling system. His co driver Brian knows how to release the pressure. This seems to be a very similar feature to the one that afflicted Jennings` car last year. It would appear that part of the solution is to turn down power output on the car. Eugene Donnelly commented at the end of that Ballybuck stage that he was fairly pleased with his progress through the day, his times now more or less on a par with the leaders. Donagh Kelly on the other hand reckoned he was driving well, but the times were just not coming. Sam Moffett seemed a little disappointed. There is a slightly uphill start to tht Ballybuck stage, and perhaps Sam has not quite got the knack of the launch control of the Fiesta.

In Group N Josh Moffett was just 1s down on Colm Murphy through the stage while both Eugene Meegan and Stephen McCann are not that far away from the times either. Colm Murphy did report a huge slide and felt there was oil on the road. Dramas at the end of the Ballybuck stage in that former National Champion Peadar Hurson pushed his Escort WRC as far as the flying finish and it would go no further. We do not know as yet what the problem is. This leaves Declan Gallagher with a 19s lead over Wesley Patterson. Ed O`Callaghan re-joined the event under Super Rally rules. He set a good time through that stage despite having problems with the rear brakes. Another one in brake troubles was Brian Brogan and he dropped over 40s. Pat Donegan retired his Escort earlier because of fuel pressure problems and he hopes to re-join in the morning.

On WRC Rally Sweden as the cars approached the finish Latvala and Mikkelsen in the VWs were 1st and 2nd with Ostberg (Citroen) 3rd. The order then was Hirvonen, Tanak, Ogier, H.Solberg, Tidemand, Elfyn Evans, Craig Breen and Kris Meeke.
