RALLY NEWS 5 Update of No.4 Service/Sunday UPDATED
UNOFFICIAL LEADERBOARD AFTER STAGE 4
1st (2) Declan Boyle/Brian Boyle (Impreza WRC) 36.53.9
2nd (12) Sam Moffett/James O`Reilly (Impreza WRC) 37.00.1
3rd (6) Darragh O`Riordan/Tony McDaid (Fiesta WRC) 37.19.4
4th (3) Niall Maguire/Enda Sherry (Impreza WRC) 37.32.5
5th (11) Roy White/James O`Brien (MG S2000) 38.48.8
BREAKING NEWS….. Declan Boyle has been caught out in the rain at the start of stage 5 and has slid his Impreza off the road losing approximately 5m. Still going but rear end of Subaru damaged. Sam Moffett led by approximately 14s from Darragh O1Riordan after SS5. Josh Moffett turned in a scorcher of a time in the rain and is moving up the leaderboard. Roy White is struggling with a broken drive shaft on his MG S2000, losing time and possibly places on the leaderboard. Darren Gass got going after a long delay.

3rd Barry & Sean Brady (Civic) 32.15.4
The weather over the opening three stages flattered to deceive as the top drivers headed out towards stage 4 with dry weather tyres on their cars and of course the rain started. Sods Law!
Fastest through that stage 4 was Declan Boyle, by just 2s from young Sam Moffett with Niall Maguire 3rd fastest a further 7s back. Tarmac Champion Darren Gass was lying 5th but his Subaru is reportedly parked at the start of stage 4. Third placed Darragh O`Riordan is still feeling unwell but has decided to keep going for another loop.
Frank Kelly and Gary McPhillips, with Rodney Wilton in close attendance, continue to battle it out for best Escort honours, just a handful of seconds between them. Best 2- wheel drive so far is Richard Moffett in the Starlet. Jonathan Pringle is just outside the leading bunch and Chris Armstrong has reportedly retired following a mishap on stage 2. Tommy Doyle in his Clio is back in 20th following his spin and time loss in stage 3. Barry Ryan is leading class 11 in his Escort. Damien O`Reilly was going to retire his Escort after stage 3 after electrical problems and no intercom.
New York based Longford man Enda McCormack was doing the rally in a ex Glen Allen Escort with Martin Brady co-driving, but the battery went flat at the start of stage 3 and they have retired.
