Fastest times through stage 7 – Langford Lodge 7.52 miles
Ulster Rally: Jennings 6.26.2: Gass 6.29.6: McGarrity 6.30.0: Barrable 6.38.8:
O’Riordan 6.44.2: Rally NI: Cronin 6.57.0: Evans 6.59.4: Cave 7.05.9: Pryce 7.07.6: Greer 7.12.9: Doyle 7.20.3: Donnelly 7.21.5:

On his home Tardree stage Derek McGarrity was fastest from Darren Gass with Garry Jennings 3rd quickest. Derek had a few moments over the bumps in Tardree but this main concern was how slippy the Langford Lodge stage was and how tight the chicanes. Darren Gass had a half spin in Tardree and still leads the rally by over 11s so he is not in a panic about McGarrity’s fastest Tardree time. Garry Jennings clattered his Subaru through a chicane on Langford but with no real damage to the car. Gass knocked his Impreza wing mirror off at the same chicane. Steve Perez has been having a better run this morning and was faster than Barrable through Tardree, but having said that, Robert was not happy with his tyre choice.

In Rally NI Keith Cronin has notched up another 2 fastest times although he said here at service. “It was incredibly slippy in places and I was being reasonably cautious”. Elfyn Evans’ co-driver Phil Pugh said. “Tardree is a junction stage, the DS3 R3s are always going to beat us on that sort of stuff”. Tommy Doyle stalled at a hairpin in stage 1 and lost a few seconds. Despite a wrong tyre choice Tom Cave continues to move up the leaderboard. Mark Donnelly said he is just trying to get through the stages and is having to use the starter off the line. Guy Wilks has a rear brake locking on hisTwingo. Finnish driver Korhonen remarked. “It is very slippy, safety driving”. Matthew Cathcart is holding 10th place and said. “Not too bad this morning. It is good fun sliding about on slicks and trimming the hedges”. Kevin O’Connor has overcome his 1m penalty from last night to move back into the lead of the Irish Citroen Trophy.

Derek McGeehan in his Mini WRC led the overnight results in the National Rally. Frank Kelly in his Escort was 2nd, Camillus Bradley 3rd, Geoff McMahon 4th, Ian Millar 5th and Fintan McGrady 6th. The National Rally contenders did not get contesting the Torr Head stage as one of the Challenge competitors, Simon Moore, crashed out and left oil all over the road. Richard Sykes won the double header Friday leg of the Challenge from Jon Armstrong with Russ Thompson 3rd. In the Historic Rally overnight Tomas Davies headed the list by 3s from Wesley Patterson with Julian Reynolds 3rd. Ernie Graham was 4th, Tim Pearcey 5th. Rob Smith in his Chevette broke the Escort domination and was 6th. Keith McIvor in his Porsche 7th.
