Stage 2 Grianan emphasised Kevin Lynch’s commitment with yet another fastest time Kevin 1s faster than Eugene Donnelly with Eamonn Boland 3rd fastest just ahead of Colin McRae.  Then it was Tim McNulty followed by Derek McGarrity. Eugene Donnelly reported at stage finish that everything had gone well.  Kevin Lynch’s Subaru is still in some sort of gearbox of gear selection trouble.

Matthew Wilson is just outside the leaderboard on 13.42.5, Matthew saying the earlier problem with his hand brake was down to the differentials being locked and he was able to over ride the system by pushing lots of buttons on the steering wheel.  Mark Higgins is having a bad run so far, Mark not happy with the way his Mitsubishi is behaving, he says he is getting no grip, lots of under steer and every corner a potential accident.

Colin McRae is still thrilling the spectators the way he throwing the raucous Metro 6R4 down the Donegal roads, Colin saying at finish of stage 2 “Its not cool in here, but good fun!”  Andrew Nesbitt stalled his Lancer at a junction. Derek McGarrity said he was very happy with the say his Subaru is going. Tim McNulty commented. “I could have gone quicker but I was too cautious at the start”.

In Group N Seamus Leonard was fastest through the 2nd stage, 3s up on Shaun Gallagher.  Leonard’s time 5.43.9 Galagher 5.46.9.  Willie Fannin recorded 5.57.3. Phillip Morrow had a good run with 5.52.2. James Cullen 5.57.6.  Colm Murphy is in power steering trouble now and his time was 6.06.7.  Colm most unhappy.  Garry Jennings did 5.53.7. Garry saying earlier that his Lancer had a soft brake pedal. Shaun Gallagher said at stage 2 finish. “No grip at the front end, car won’t turn in”…that was after setting fastest gpN time on the first stage.     Some more total times – Stephen Murphy 13.39.1. Denis Biggerstaff 14.02.3. Patrick Elliott 13.38.2. Tony Davies 13.59.5.

Finally for now Robert Lyttle the Safety Officer for the rally tells us that there are spectators wandering back and forward between junction locations and it is causing delays. Hopefully spectators will obey the marshals and stay in safe places until all the cars have passed.
