Kevin Lynch has shown a chink in his armour when the KPL man made an error at the chicane in the second run through Cam Forest (SS6).  Lynch was two seconds faster than Glenn Allen over stage five but his indiscretion in SS6 saw him only tie for equal fastest to leave his leading advantage at 15 seconds.  Kevin was fairly cool about the whole thing and asked to have the car checked for any damage and it looks like only the cill needing minor repairs.  In the meantime the Stan Harper mechanics refettled the Impreza in service and Lynch reckons the car is now handling perfectly.  Glenn Allen really enjoyed his run through the second attempt at the short Cam and was equally pleased to match Lynch through stage six.  Tony Armsby is now making real progress up the leaderboard and reckons he can’t go much quicker, the Englishman saying “even though we have a GpA restrictor on the car, we only have GpN suspension and we are driving to the limits of that”.

Neil McCance pulled out all the stops over stage six to extend his GpN lead to eight seconds when he took another four seconds from John McGlaughlin, Neil telling us that “the Pirelli tyres are working really well – that was a much better run – much cleaner” and was interested to see how John McGlaughlin got on.  McGlaughlin having sorted out his diff problems was pleased with his speed despite dropping time to McCance and told us “I wouldn’t want to be pushing much harder than that, but we had a good run”.  The second run through the long Cam (SS6) is certainly taking no prisoners with Eoin McErlean reportedly stuck in the mud in the middle of the stage but following drivers think he may get going again.  Also reportedly off the road is Donagh Kelly in his Lancer after a good run.

Andy Magee is having a real good run to lead the 2wd’s from Mark Barnett after it is reported that Alistair Cochrane has taken a wheel off his Mk2 in SS6.   No other times for the 2wd cars but Bob Riddles and Trevor Moore are both still going very strongly.
