Rally leader Kevin Lynch was quickest once again in stages five and six. No sooner had the Stan Harper mechanics restored the KPL Imprezaâs sixth gear, an electronic tweak sorted that problem out, then Kevin snapped off the Carbon Fibre paddle-shift. The ragged edge sliced through his driving glove into his finger, but undeterred Kevin rigged up a pair of vice-grips as a gear changer and promptly set a time 17 seconds faster than anyone on the second run through Cam, that is almost two seconds a mile. Glen Allen is holding onto second but his Escort WRC has lost sixth gear, Glen struggling in the faster parts of Cam and explained that unlike Kevin Lynch his sixth gear is lost for good.

KBB Doors man Kieran Shaw is definitely settling into his RHD Impreza and was second fastest through stage six, Kieran describing his performance as "getting it together". Dermott Kelly drove his heart out through stage five but was a little bit down beat to find he had set to same time as stage one, but a real charge through Cam saw him fourth quickest on 8.31. Former NI Champion Denis Biggerstaff is another one who admits to have woken up, Denis fifth fastest in Cam on a time of 8.32. James Murphy has lost all his brakes but still holds ninth overall.

Keith White is in devastating form in his 2wd Escort and is now up to 8th overall after an impressive time of 8.40 in Cam but he is struggling to keep rear types on the car. Just off the leaderboard in the Mk2 race is Mark Barnett on a total of 30.01 with Alistair Cochrane just three seconds behind. Andy Magee has dropped back to a total of 30.19 following a spin on stage six. John McGlaughlin had a big overshoot in Cam loosing around fifteen seconds and reducing the GpN lead to seven seconds from Stephen Moore. Tristin Pye had led GpN earlier in his N10 Impreza but despite running further down the field he seems to have disappeared. Eamon McErlean is also featuring strongly in GpN, we had him second after stage five.
