Robbie McGurk and Rory Kennedy continue to stretch their legs and increase their advantage at the head of the field in their W J Dolan GpN Impreza. Robbie reports a trouble free run in the car, while co-driver Rory Kennedy quipped "What is keeping them boys". Second place man Dominic McNeill admits he has no answer to McGurk, and he reports no problems in his Escort WRC.

The battle for third is now really hotting up. Brian Murphy is certainly getting to grips with the Stan Harper Impreza, equal fastest on stage 6, and joint fastest on stage four with McGurk, both these drivers some seconds ahead. Eugene Donnelly ties for third place with Murphy at the moment, Eugene enjoying himself in the Celica but dosen't quite know how hard to push the Bio-Clear machine.

John McCarthy continues to run well in 7th despite a spin in stage five, while Eddie Kinirons punctured on stage five loosing around 20 seconds in his Celica. Pete Willoughby is finding life difficult with a sore shoulder, Pete really struggling to change gear in the Pitlane.

John Treacy continues to go well in his Mk2 Escort but reports that his engine was getting very hot on stage six and he had to back off from half way through to the finish, his total 31.39 puts him just behind Garry Jennings. Jennings absolutely flying as usual in the little 1600cc Peugeot, Garry just laughing when asked if everything is all right. Jimmy Lambert also in the thick of the 2wd battle has sorted the handling on his Escort and reports the car to be perfect, his total 31.40.

Brian McCloskey reports no problems in his Escort Cosworth, while running way down the field at 42 is Omagh's Paul Barrett who is going well and into the top ten in his Escort.
