Shaun was 12th after stage 10, we are still awaiting his times. Justin Dale is looking more and more comfortable at the front of this rally with just 1 stage remaining, he has well over a minute in hand over Martin Rowe. Rowe has moved from 3rd to 2nd with the news that Mats Andersson has stopped out on stage 11. There have been many other dramas - Ian Barrett is in danger of losing his top privateer tag in the Formula Rally series, because he emerged from the stage with his right rear wheel smashed, the suspension obviously badly damaged. It will be interesting to see if he gets the car fixed for the final test. Ryan Champion did not appear at the end of stage 11, the top Peugeot Super 106 Cup man apparently marooned at a junction, unconfirmed reports suggesting a damaged wheel. Michael Brew lost some time when he clipped a front wheel, the wheel was pushed up against the bodywork and he lost perhaps 20s. David Henderson lost close to 2 minutes when his Puma ran out of gears on the run through the final corners to the stage finish. Kris Meeke backed off towards the end of the stage when his engine temperature light came on. Daniel Dunbabin reportedly stopped, reason as yet unknown. David Bateson continues to lead the VW Polo Challenge and reports no problems. Patrick Magaud is reportedly suffering a little clutch problem with his Puma following the earlier gearbox trouble - certainly the French driver does not want to stop to talk to anyone!! Garry Jennings joked about that stage 11 "We had 3 extra chicanes - Ryan Champion stuck in the road with a wheel seemingly off, a Puma parked across the road and Mats Andersson stuck across a junction!" Adrian McElvaney reported slipping wide at 2 corners but got away with it. More news after final stage..BRIAN & LIZ PATTERSON
