For Dave Weston this has been his best rally result, a red letter day for the Aberdonian, who has only ever achieved a few national B wins. The 34 year old construction manager remarked when he finished the last stage "We're well chuffed, we backed off for the last stage, just took it easy, obviously very anxious to finish and win. It was a good rally, good stages, very enjoyable". Second placed Brian Bell was well pleased with his finish, Brian not expecting such a high result when he came up here to Scotland. Raymond Munro survived a last minute puncture to set set fastest time on that final stage Glengap and reinforce his 3rd place, after starting the day in 8th position, following mechanical problems yesterday. Stuart McQueen takes the group N category award as well as finishing 4th overall in his Lancer.

In the hotly contested Peugeot Super 106 Cup category - Rory Galligan and his co driver Paul Nagle took victory. This was the fdirst time for Kerryman Paul to sit in with Rory. Oldcastle man Rory said at the finish "They were great forest stages and I am over the moon with the win and thoroughly enjoyed the race with Ryan, it was a good rally". Ryan Champion takes 2nd place points today, while Daniel Dunbabin finished 3rd in the Super Cup points. Dunbabin said "I'm very happy to prove my pace in the forests". Ryan Champion said after that Glengap test "We're a little disappointed, although we did have a good rally but we lost time on the last couple of stages yesterday when the car developed a misfire and we lost the lead of the Peugeots to Rory".

Looking back to yesterday's Formula Rally section of this Scottish event - Justin Dale in his Peugeot had an emphatic victory over Mats Andersson in the Satria. Martin Rowe did lead the Formula Rally championship before the event, but he retired his Puma with an engine problem yesterday. This means that Martin slips to 2nd in the series, 6 points behind new leader Justin Dale.

Finally for now many thanks to Jonathan Lord and all his RSAC team for promoting another splendid Scottish Rally. Thanks also to Ken & Ormond in the press room, Robert & Charlotte and the Help Desk staff..and to all who helped us with the Rallynews service during the event..
