Conditions here at the end of Cam have now deteriorated as the rain gets heavier, but Trevor Moore is relentlessly stretching his lead at the front of this Dogleap Rally. Although he dropped a couple of seconds to Kevin O'Kane on stage six the Glengormley car dealer pushed hard through the longer Cam stage and admitted that even though it was rougher he felt it was a good time despite his windscreen misting up. Denis Biggerstaff was second quickest through stage seven, dropping five seconds to Moore despite his Metro 6R4 having throttle over-run problems causing the little machine to stall at junctions. Kevin O'Kane is still pushing hard and reports no problems in his Impreza.

GpN leader Richard Hogg is gradually slipping down the leaderboard as his showroom category car struggles in the wet and cut up stages. Gary White reported a huge moment in Cam, reckoning that it was nearly all over in his Escort Cosworth, also stalling the Shell backed machine at a junction but set a very respectable fourth fastest time.

Raymond Mason is finding the stages cutting up badly in his Subaru, while Finton McGrady continues unabated, his lack of gravel experience being exposed especially with his braking distances. Owen Lamont is pleased with his pace and reports no problems in the GEM Impreza. Mark Woodside is following in the family tradition and setting very impressive GpN times in his DGM Lancer, now up to 8th overall. Just off the leaderboard Brian McCloskey and Francis Regan are coming to terms with their Escort Cosworth and are on a total of 34.57.

Wicklow visitor Noel Driver continues to battle on after his earlier off, while Scottish championship regular Gordon Cunningham admits to be struggling in the rainy conditions.
