Martin Rowe in his Ford Puma may have been flat out over the last couple of stages, and set fastest times through the 2 Silverstone stages, but Justin Dale in his Peugeot did more than enough to win the rally, and the Formula Rally title. For Justin and co-driver Andrew Bargery, this is a very proud moment, Champions in the inaugural Formula Rally year.  It has definitely been a good day for Peugeot - Martin Sansom wins the Formula Rally Privateers Award in his Peugeot, Simon Mauger was on course, but he had some problem in
his Proton in Silverstone to drop a little time.

UNOFFICIAL LEADERBOARD PEUGEOT SUPER 106 CUP AFTER SS14
1st (16) Rory Galligan/Paul Nagle (Peugeot) 52.40.5
2nd (14) Garry Jennings/James O'Brien (Peugeot) 53.02.9
3rd (15) Ryan Champion/Cliff Simmons (Peugeot) 53.25.6
4th (17) Michael Brew/Breeshey Christian (Peugeot) 53.47.0
5th (19) Dave Nutt/Steve Greenhill (Peugeot) 53.56.2

In the Peugeot Super 106 Cup Rory Galligan has been the class act today. Co-driven by Paul Nagle, the Oldcastle man has had some mixed fortunes during the year, but it has come right today.  One cannot help but feel sympathy for Garry Jennings and Ryan Champion, they have been right in the hunt all through the season, and indeed never relaxed today for a second.  There can only be one winner.

Justin Dale commented "It wasn't easy today - Martin never gave up."  Patting his Peugeot, Justin went on "A good old girl this. It hasn't really sunk in yet. It's been a great fight against very good drivers".  Martin Rowe told us "I'm disappointed - we all worked hard this year, the Boreham mechanics, the Pirelli tyre men, we've had 3 wins, but a few problems. Second today and second in the championship, that's the way it is".

Peugeot Super 106 Cup winner, Rory Galligan said "I'm very happy, I've waited a long time for this, 3 tough years, I've had the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. This Kerryman beside me, Paul Nagle, must have brought me a bit of luck as well".
As we await the remainder of the cars coming in...David Bateson would appear to be heading for the Polo Challenge with George Philipedes and Adrian Kermode fighting it out for the class win today. Clive Wheeler retired earlier with a broken differential.
David Lapworth & John Spiller were looking good for the gpN win in their Subaru.  Guy Wilks was leading the 1400cc Pumas from David Henderson by just 5s, with Shaun Woffinden 3rd, so it was all to play for there.  Young Norwegian hotshot Alexander Foss retired when in the lead, his Puma gearbox broken.  In theKa class today Edward Pugh was leading by 17s from Ian Forgan with Jack Ingleby 3rd with just a couple of stages to go. Many thanks to all who have helped us on today's Prodrive Banbury Rally. BRIAN & LIZ PATTERSON
